Philadelphia February 26Major Lemuel R Schofield director of public safety led a police raid on the Manufacturers Club, a leading Philadelphia institution, seizing more than 600 quarts of champagne rye whiskey and imported liquors. Schofield resigned from the club after the raid and said the prohibition enforcement must target major figures as well as small operators.
