State institutes search for missing boy in Iowa as Spor A column reports on the British aid bill’s fate and anticipated parliamentary action.
A 10 year old freckled red haired boy Edward Jensen son of Mr and Mrs C M Jensen of 407 Eil teenth street has been missing since Sunday after noon. He went to a neighbor to play and left after marbles saying he would go home but has not arrived.
Webster City John Jack Johnson a 49 year old carpenter faced assault with intent to murder and concealed weapon charges. A defense motion for a sanity hearing was granted by District Judge O J Henderson after his arrest December 26 when he allegedly pulled a gun on William Rothman who refused to help free his car from a ditch.
The Camp Foster district of the Y M C A will hold two youth conferences this year. Storm Lake on March 21 and Worthington Minnesota on April 1 will host events. Dr Frank Slutz of Dayton Ohio will direct the Storm Lake session as lecturer and counselor.
Ben Bennett, manager of a Missouri riverfront gas station in Sioux City, reported to police that thieves pried a back door panel and removed a 500-pound safe containing $200 in cash.
Fren Gil bert of State Center is named treasurer of the Marshall county defense council. Roy Pell of Marshalltown is chosen as president and O S Reiley is named secretary. The council plans a farewell party for Company H national guard and local volunteer selectees.
Earl Lewis has been appointed assistant in the Columbus Junction Gazette office to replace Woodrow J. Shearer. Four men including Ralph W. Finley Orval McCormac and Richard W. McCulley depart for Ft Des Moines for a year of military training. Miss Helen Johnston plays a virgin in The Most Foolish Virgin at Monmouth College on Feb 22.

Advertising Age reports that retail display advertising in 82 cities rose 5.6 percent for the week ended February 15 from the prior year. Total lines reached 19,473,082, up from 18,434,982, with year-to-date 1941 at 121,118,880 lines, up 2.3 percent from 1940 and 3.3 percent from 1939.
United Press reports predicted German moves in Bulgaria but no action yet. British forces bombarded German submarine bases at Brest while a senior British mission led by Eden and Dill rushed to Ankara to assess the situation.
London reports that commencing March 10 the Ministry of Food bans serving two eggs or fish and meat in one meal with a maximum two year prison term and a 2000 dollar fine. Hotels restaurants and boarding houses seen as offenders face the same penalties.
Washington February 25 Defense officials predicted the government will invoke mandatory priorities to ration output of eight or more industries for defense. The Office of Production Management told aluminum and machine tool producers to give defense orders preference and submit all pending orders monthly for priority rating as the first step to broader private industry interference.
