Two cars were badly damaged in a crash at North 12th Avenue and East 11th Street in Washington on Thursday at 12 48 p m. Carol Lee Sutton stopped at a stop sign then pulled into the intersection and was hit by Donald L Hesseltine. Sutton charged with failure to yield Hesseltine with no valid driver's license. Damages about 3500 dollars.

Fire destroys trailer home on West Madison Street
A trailer home on the 900 block of West Madison Street in Washington was gutted by a Thursday night fire. Fire crews arrived at 1:27 a.m. to find the structure engulfed, leaving only the shell. The homeowners, Dick Bishop and Joe Zaugg, suffered minor burns and were treated at Washington County Hospital. Fire Chief Lew McFadden noted the blaze likely started in the furnace. The two residents received temporary housing at the Dave Butterbaugh home while arranging other lodging.
