Dr Lee Wallace Dean 71 of Muscatine Iowa died in St Louis Missouri. An ophthalmology and otolaryngology pioneer at the State University of Iowa he led the medical college as dean and expanded departments. He resigned in 1927 after a dispute over administration.

Des Moines Man Pleads Innocent in Manslaughter Case
Leo Kielly, 41, of State Center, pleaded innocent to a manslaughter charge arising from a fatal Des Moines automobile crash. He posted a $5,000 bond for a Feb 25 hearing after police say he drove the car that struck Plareld Anderson. Kielly was arrested after identification of the vehicle by a torn Buick fragment found at the scene.

Wake Island Bombed Again by Japanese Report
Japanese Domei dispatch claims American heavy bombers attacked Wake Island for the third time in 10 nights with 18 four engine aircraft. The Japanese said anti aircraft fire repulsed the raid and reported no damage or casualties. Wake Island sits 100 miles southeast of Midway and 700 miles north of Kwajalein. A separate Comet dispatch reported a Japanese naval air unit sank an 8000 ton allied transport off Chittagong in the Indian Ocean.
