Flu hits Cedar Rapids Marion area canceling St Josephs classes

Fire destroys 24 unit apartment under construction
Pleasant Hill Iowa residents watched a 24 unit apartment house under construction burn to the ground Tuesday night. Washington County Extension Service plans tractor and machinery safety classes for youths age 14 and 15. Classes start late February or early March, run 10 weeks, with a $12 fee due February 17 at the Extension Office. Enrollment through area junior high schools. Instructors will teach safety, operation, and care. participation may grant eligibility under a 1968 Labor Department rule for under 16s working away from home. Over 450 youths have completed these courses in eight years.
