He has served in Washington schools since 1959, including roles as principal and assistant superintendent. He and wife Mary have three daughters. Action approved at a board meeting Tuesday. Brighten death of Mrs. Cora Pringle, 86, noted. She lived near Brighton, had cafe and tea room work, and leaves a foster daughter and several siblings. Service Thursday at Methodist church in Brighton. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Unemployment near nine year low at 4 percent
In January the seasonally adjusted jobless rate fell to 4 percent, the lowest since April 1957, with Labor Secretary Wirtz predicting a drop below 3.5 percent by year end 1966. William Patterson, 85, Dies Near Winfield
William Patterson died at his Winfield home on Saturday afternoon February 5 after a long illness that left him eyeless. The funeral was held at 1 30 p m Tuesday February 8 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield. Burial was in Winfield Scott Township Cemetery. Patterson, born October 10 1880 in Canaan Township, was married to Emma McCulley on December 25 1906. Surviving are four daughters, three sons, two brothers, twin sisters, 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He farmed in the Winfield area and served as township trustee, War Dads member, and drove the Winfield School bus for 29 years until retirement.

Soviet says Spain accident proves nuclear danger on volcano
At the disarmament conference Soviet negotiator Tsarapkin warned that Western Europe sits on a nuclear volcano after a U S Air Force B 52 collided with a jet tanker over Spain. Foster said such accidents are extremely rare and no nuke explosion occurred due to safety controls.
