WPA Sewing Room Keeps Eight Machines Running
Nineteen WPA women workers operate in the sewing room as of now with eight machines in use. Mia Catherine Null is the new supervisor and converts odds and ends into trims for pajamas and dresses. Sewing has progressed since November 29 and relief clients have received some sheets and towels. Huck toweling was used for foot parts in the making.

Last night Washington recorded 23 degrees below zero tying the coldest mark of the present winter. Temperature reached twelve below zero by ten this morning. State roads opened after heavy snow, but primary road No 1 remained closed between Kalona and Iowa City as calm, blustery conditions persisted.
