In Jerusalem nearly all of the 400 men and women held for questioning after Thursday night bombings were released. The curfew eased, Tel Aviv's curfew lifted, and Jerusalem kept quiet. One Jewish suspect died of injuries in hospital as manhunt efforts continued.
Lt. Gen. Lucian K. Truscott announced discovery of a marriage license for Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun dated April 29 1945 believed to mark their Berlin nuptials shortly before their suicides. The find accompanies Hitler s private will ordering immediate cremation of he and his wife.
Des Moines reports Rep. Thomas E. Martin of Iowa City secured nomination papers from the secretary of state for another term as representative of Iowa's first district.

Case company plants in four midwestern cities rejects Mayor Francis Wendt of Racine's proposal to submit the dispute to the U S Department of Labor Conciliation Service. He notes the offer was rejected on Nov 27 and asserts the company has the city’s best interests at heart and cites 1944 payroll of about 18 million dollars plus bonuses and gifts to local institutions.
James Monroe Bratten died yesterday at 87 in his home at 624 West Washington after a long life of service. He led in business with Klein Clothing Company for 33 years and served on the city park board Y M C A board Presbyterian church trustees and Washington Loan and Trust co. He was born May 4 1858 in Pierceville Indiana and is survived by his daughter Elsie with grandchildren three. Funeral services set for Monday at 2 30 p m at L A Jones funeral home with Dr Eastwood presiding.

Clara Mondia sues Anthony Mondia asserting a Chicago marriage on April 29, 1942 and separation on December 12, 1945 with alimony child support and confinement expenses for a future child. Mildred O'Brien petitions against James O'Brien seeking custody of two children and cites a Memphis Missouri marriage May 21, 1940. Sarah Lucille Johnson filed against Cloyce Mayo Johnson of Brighton after a Fairfield marriage on September 24, 1938 ending August 1944 with representation by her attorney.
Eleven youths aged 18 in Washington county registered at the selective service office in December. Names announced include Donald Dawson Washington William Wagamon Jr Wellman John Baldrige Washington Wayne Alliman Wayland Emry Bender Kalona Robert Becker Wellman Maurice Strabala Richmond Leroy Brenneman Kalona John Green Washington Ezra Beachy Riverside Frank Burris Riverside.
Walter Henry Johnson 39 known as Pat died at the county hospital after a sudden illness. Funeral services are set for 2 PM Tuesday at L. A. Jones Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Born January 7 1906 in Woodhall Illinois he lived in Washington county since age five. Survived by wife Beulah Meredith and three sons John Lee 16 Donald 11 Richard 7, his father J L Johnson, four sisters Mabel Brinning Ruth Hartman Grace Ferns, a brother Frank, and deceased brother Oscar.
