Sioux City Base Placed Inactive After War Duty
The Sioux City army air base will be placed on a temporarily inactive status starting Monday after completing its mission. Col. M. M. Mann said reopening is not planned, though the base could resume in about 20 days. About 100 civilian and 25 military personnel remain as maintenance crews and guards. Hardin County Attorney D. W. Dickinson recommended to Attorney General John Rankin that all remaining indictments against former Eldora training school officers and employees be dismissed. Fifteen Hurt When Bus Crashes Into Parked Truck
A north bound Greyhound bus collided with a parked truck six miles south of Blencoe Iowa injuring fifteen people. Bus driver Roy B. Golden was reported most seriously hurt.
