Sled accident claims 5-year-old Juanita Johnson
Juanita Johnson, five, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Johnson, died Monday from injuries after a sled crash Sunday into a parked car. She suffered a fractured skull and jaw along with internal injuries. Two other children on the sled escaped harm.

Norton C. Corbin Dies in Davenport Burial Planned
Private funeral services for Norton C. Corbin will be held at L. A. Jones funeral home with Dr. R. C. Keagy officiating followed by burial in Elm Grove cemetery. He died last evening at 6 30 at the Feruary rest home in Davenport from injuries suffered in a fall months ago. Born in Washington November 17 1855 he lived in Washington until moving to Davenport twelve years ago. He married Ella Wallace in Washington December 17 1878. she died in April 1911. Surviving are a son Earl Corbin of Davenport and two grandsons Wright and Richard Corbin, in the United States armed forces.

No Fight Is Left in Leaders
FBI director J Ek Hoover announced that the Touhy gangsters were killed or captured in raids ending this morning with the seizure of Roger Houhy and Basil Banzhart. Banghart surrendered after a five oclock raid and the others followed without a fight. Nelson of the Touhy gang was captured December 15 in a Minneapolis hotel and is held for Illinois authorities.

Injury expense in scrap drive Oct 6 is all settled
The Washington County Civilian Defense Council reports full payment of all expenses for Margery Logan and others injured in the Oct 6 scrap drive accident. The cost was covered by Dr. W. A. Alcorn L. A. Jones Washington County Hospital and Mutual Fire and Tornado Association of Cedar Rapids Iowa. The accident was caused by a third party crowding Richard Flynn into a parked car, and the insurer will handle remaining claims.
