Teen pilot lands plane on George Washington Bridge
Pilot Pillip Ippolito, 19, of New York City and passenger Joseph Brennan, 23, landed a disabled rented plane on the center lanes of the George Washington Bridge amid 30 mph winds after engine trouble. They survived with facial injuries and broken teeth, treated at Columbia-Presbyterian. The flight had departed Ramapo Valley Air Port in Rockland County and aimed for Red Bank New Jersey. The gas cap loss forced the risky bridge landing.

Hering couple hurt in one car crash near Cotter
Mr and Mrs Clarence Hering were injured Friday when a blown tire caused their car to overturn one mile east of Cotter. Hering has a cracked vertebra and Mrs Hering a broken collar bone. Both are at Washington County Hospital. Their Christmas dinner plans were kept as relatives visited in hospital.
