Fired Employee Goes on Shooting Spree in Ohio

1.5 Million Negroes Leave South Since ’50
Washington reports the Census Bureau found nearly 15 million Negroes left the South from 1950 to 1960. Edna Bailey Webb of Santa Ana California died December 25. She had left here years ago after working at the Iowa Southern Utilities Co and Bruns Seed Store. Her husband died in 1935. Survivors include two brothers in law J N Phillips of Washington and Claude Flynn of Riverside and a sister in law Dora Bailey of Washington plus numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Santa Ana on Thursday.

Three Die in Central Park West Fire at Mayflower Hotel
A blaze at the Mayflower Hotel on Central Park West in New York killed three people including a firefighter and two residents. Nine others, seven firefighters among them, were injured as occupants fled to the lobby.
