Oldest resident Georgia Kennedy dies after century life
Mrs Georgia Kennedy died in Ottumwa late Christmas day at over 100. Born around 1840 on a Red Rock Georgia plantation she and her mother were sold to an Alabama doctor when she was six. She served with a hospital unit and carried water to Confederate troops at Lookout Mountain.

Nighttime Christmas Eve Fire Destroys Knottnerus Farm Home

Born November 12 1870 in Lincoln Illinois she lived on a farm near Washington. Her husband Charles A Mayer predeceased her in a railway crossing accident.
