All in Family Killed in Nebraska Car Tragedy
Des Moines news reports a family of seven perished after a car left a slippery highway near Clarks Nebraska and sank into mud and water. The Deweys, parents aged 28 and 26, and their five sons aged 2 to 9 died in the accident while en route to visit relatives for a seven year family reunion.

The Rev. Amos Gingerich 82 of rural Parnell died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Iowa City after a four day illness. He was a retired Mennonite minister born near Kalona July 21 1880. Funeral services Wednesday Dec 26 at 11 a.m. in West Union Church with burial in West Union Cemetery. Burial arrangements by Powell Funeral Home Wellman. Memorial fund to Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities accepted. He was ordained 1909 and served until retirement with earlier service as Hesten College business manager 1933 1939. He married Marie Yoder Sept 17 1905. Survived by widow seven sons three daughters 30 grandchildren seven great grandchildren three brothers and one sister.

Bryan Swift age 66 died this morning at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. He lived northwest of Ainsworth and was a WWI veteran and farmer. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery after services at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Carlyle Smith. He was born Nov 11 1896 in Washington County. He married Ethel Leota Caldwell on Dec 17 1919 and was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. Survived by his widow 12 children 33 grandchildren and multiple siblings.
