Detroit Lions signal caller Earl Morrall visited Washington to personally deliver a signed white football to Tim Trotman, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Trotman. Morrall, a former Rose Bowl quarterback, had autographed the ball for Tim during hospital recovery and stayed with Tim’s family while in town. Tim, a 5th grade touch football quarterback, proudly showed the keepsake after his sinus operation and tonsil removal.

Nativity Display Grows Into World’s Largest Each Year
Davenport Iowa cemetery caretaker Ray Groves has built Christmas City over 22 years in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The 20 acre display features 15 scenes with a 62 foot tower and a 10 foot Bethlehem star. Over 200000 visitors are expected this season as lights cover five miles of wiring. Groves started with a rented manger scene bought for 65 dollars and the cemetery funds the project now investing more than 30000 dollars.

Mid Prairie High School Bond Vote Planned for 650000
Voters in the Mid Prairie Community School district will go to the polls January 22 to approve a 650000 bond for a central high school. The plan calls for a one story 45000 square foot building with eleven classrooms and special rooms on roughly 40 acres between Kalona Wellman and West Chester. Polls open 8 am to 8 pm at Wellman Kalona and West Chester where completion could occur by fall 1960 if approved.

Fire roars through two Clinton buildings causing multi million damage
A wind driven blaze ripped through Clinton Iowa Modernistic and Scottish Rite buildings early today, feared to cost several million dollars. IBM gear in the Modernistic site was destroyed, one firefighter was slightly injured, and most valuables were saved. Both structures were vacant at discovery.

Seven Die As Bus Hits Trucks In Tennessee Crash
A Greyhound bus hit a truck then shattered into flames in a central Tennessee gulley near Pulaski. At least seven killed and 12 injured among 19 passengers plus the driver. Bus driver Sam Youree and passenger Billie Jean Hallman named among the injured or dead. Officials said remains initially thought human were parts of a fowl carried aboard.

Two Killed in Iowa Accidents on Tuesday
Two fatal crashes occurred in Iowa Tuesday night. In New Hampton one man died John Forrest Baxter 34 Fort Atkinson and his wife 33 was in fair condition. The other car driver 22 from Lawler had minor injuries. In Keokuk another fatal collision on a residential street killed Francis Reich 29 Cantril and injured Darlene Stott 26 and four Keokuk youths. All injured remained hospitalized.
