132 Children Attend YW-Rotary Christmas Party

Leonard Marek a 21 year old laborer in Wellman is jailed in Washington County on a car theft charge. Authorities say he stole Bernard McCarthy’s car from in front of the State Theater on Washington Street and was arrested by Iowa City police after the vehicle was reported missing. McCarthy notes a trouble light and power saw were missing when the car was returned. Marek admits driving to Washington in his own car before borrowing McCarthy’s car from its parking spot.

Youth Center Dance Raises Funds for Food Baskets

Mrs. Adda C. Stone, 81, of 728 West Monroe Street, died at 8 a m. in Washington County Hospital after a stroke.
