Fire kills two children in Clinton County apartment
In Charlotte, two Garion children died after a hotel fire damaged their apartment. Kristy 1 and Craig 2 died at University Hospitals Iowa City. Bombs fall closer to Hanoi in latest U S raid

Record 4-H market beeves weigh in at Washington County fair
A record 191 market beeves were weighed in and enrolled by 89 Washington County 4-H and FFA members, up from 181 calves enrolled last year by 80 members. Crossbred calves rise to 79, while Straight bred Angus decline for the third year. The Riverside Ramblers led with 40 animals, followed by Crooked Creek Cyclones with 27 and Washington Hustlers with 24.
