A warehouse of the J LeRoy Farmer Canning company in Marengo Iowa burned today causing an estimated loss of 75000 to 100000. The fire consumed seventy thousand cases of canned corn and 25 tons of sugar plus stored equipment. Fire started in a conveyor and was found around midnight. it was under control for about two hours before reigniting and destroying the interior.

The body of Theodore W. Ward veteran railway man died in Jacksonville Florida was buried here. Ward brother of the late James A. Ward he worked as a passenger conductor on the Rock Island for 20 years and with the Illinois Central for 21 years. City to Get Sinking Fund From State
Washington city council approved a resolution to receive 17 795 73 from the state sinking fund after Des Moines backed the claim.
