Freight Train Wreck Kills Three Near Williamsport Pa
A Pennsylvania Railroad freight train derailed while crossing Lycoming Creek between Williamsport and Newberry. River Junction Florida December 16. Sheriff F Edwards of Gadsden County was shot and killed by Armstrong while trying to arrest him on a train to Climax Georgia. Armstrong was then shot to death by Edwards before he died.

At 5 a m a west bound freight train crossed the last span of the Big Four bridge one half mile east of Troy Ohio when it gave way. Fireman W H Clifford of Indianapolis was killed and his body was not recovered from the river. The engineer and conductor survived with injuries to the conductor’s hand. nine freight cars and the engine lay in the river bed.
