The Christian Christmas relief drive aims to raise corn or cash with support from church and civic groups and Governor Blue’s food relief committee. Convict Admits Part in Slaying Wisconsin Girl
Sennet, 22, a UW slayer, confessed he and an unnamed accomplice kidnapped eight year old Georgia Weekster Just Maytor, shot her, overdosed her with sleeping pills, and dumped her body in a Wisconsin river. He implicated no ransom and shielded the other suspect. The confession was obtained at the state prison in Jefferson county. The girl died after May 1 while returning home from a country school and the pair were farmers near Fort Atkinson.

Funeral services set for J F McNamara in Iowa City
Funeral services for J F McNamara former Washington businessman are scheduled for Tuesday morning at St Patrick Catholic church in Iowa City with burial in Iowa City. Age 86 he died Saturday night in a Davenport nursing home after two weeks there. Survived by wife in Davenport a son Jay in Iowa City and daughter Mrs Ray Phillips of Iowa City three sisters in Ohio. He and his son ran a furniture and undertakings business in Washington before moving to Iowa City about 20 years ago and retiring years ago.

In Danville Iowa the First Baptist church, the state’s oldest Baptist church, suffered basement and belfry damage in a fire that caused several thousand dollars in losses. Fire crews from Danville and the Iowa Ordnance Plant extinguished the blaze. no one was inside due to a joint service with the Congregational church. The custodian, Charles Bailey, found the fire.
