Dec 15 Des Moines reports that the joined legislative committee on taxation and the state board of assessment and review urged replacing the state property tax with new taxes including income, corporate excess, tobacco, amusement, butter substitutes, billboards, mortgage fees, and a real estate m ortgage registration.
