Betty Ruth Teeple age four, daughter of Mr and Mrs J P Teeple, is in Jennie Edmundson hospital with a possible skull fracture after falling nine feet through a hot air register at her home in Council Bluffs.
Iowa City police investigate a robbery at the J C Penney store with $1200 missing and a diamond ring reported among the lost items. No clues were found as detectives search for suspects and determine how the money vanished from a hiding place in the store.
Leo Burke 20 of Iown City lies in critical condition after a street brawl last night near a local beer parlor. Police found him unconscious with a gash above the left eye. bystanders offered no clear account of the injury.
Dean Francis Dawson of the University of Iowa college of engineering said the demand for graduate engineers in nearly all fields this year greatly exceeds the supply. The demand for engineering graduates clearly shows the revival of industry in the United States. It is a most encouraging sign.
Holiday exodus at the University of Iowa will begin next Friday noon with the campus soon deserted. Last classes of 1926 end December 18 and students return January 5 at 8 a.m.

Co. E. Sleggel of Brooklyn Iowa was arrested after driving into a ditch and sought help to refloat his car. Sheriff Harold M. Putnam noted Sleggel offered a drink which was refused and he was jailed awaiting a preliminary hearing in justice court.
