Apollo 17 astronauts push toward the halfway point on their farewell flight to the moon. Eugene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt and Ronald Evans rest for six days of lunar surface work as they receive cautious updates, including Schmitt’s Earth weather observations and vivid notes on Australia and red deserts.
