Sikke Temple, a Keota area farmer, was named regional sweepstakes winner in soil conservation for 25 years of erosion control. He built terraces, dams, ditches, tile outlet terraces, and uses chisel plowing on 240 rolling acres. Temple and wife Beulah have 11 children. He received the award at a regional dinner hosted by the State Soil Conservation Service.
