Daniel Smith Hancher aged nearly 84 died yesterday evening at his home 6 West Madison street after a 15 month bedfast state. He suffered a stroke years ago and later deteriorated. Funeral 2 40 Saturday at L A Jones Funeral Home with Rev A A Wing of the Baptist church officiating burial in Ainsworth cemetery. Born December 12 1842 in Ohio to Robert and Catherine Mancher he came to Iowa as a youth, lived in southern Illinois, moved to Washington about 15 years ago. He married Mary Relth in 1874, one daughter Ola McAllin (deceased). After Widowing he married Mile Me O Neill on August 1 1877 who survives along with a son Celt Hancher of Verre Haute Indiana and three daughters Mrs J I H Smith of Chicago Mrs Oscar Smith of Kansas City and Mrs Payne of Washington. Two sons Clark and John are deceased. Survives nine grandchildren, one brother Finn Hancher of Washington and two sisters Mrs Belle Love and Mrs Amanda Clark. He was a member of the Methodist church.
