Fairfield Iowa December 5 murder charge added today to the strange sequence of events that led to the death of Alden Wright a motorcycle policeman. The suspect told officers his name was Ray Hansen but telephone inquiries to Kansas City brought word that he used Hal Conklin. He faces murder charges after a coroner s jury ruled Wright was killed while attempting to arrest him. A woman identified by Mrs Olive Royalty of Ottumwa was arrested with Hansen and held. she said she knew him as Frank Conklin. Wright s funeral was planned for Mount Pleasant today as Hansen remained in custody awaiting grand jury action. In Detroit Michigan Lowell Bayles speed flier died in a crash at Wayne County Airport while travelling nearly 300 miles per hour. He was a top prize winner at the recent Chicago air races.
The Iowa Bankers Association announced new agricultural credit avenues totaling 4.25 million dollars through two operating corporations. Farmers may leverage up to ten times their capital stock, aided by the Omaha fed intermediary, expanding access to roughly fifty million dollars in agricultural loans.

Mrs John Hoover of Ypsilanti Michigan died yesterday at Battle Creek after a long illness. She was the mother of Carl J Roberts who is in Michigan. Hoover was nearly 99 at death and her husband died eleven years earlier on the same date. She had relatives and friends in Washington and had lived in Canada for much of her life. Funeral services are to be held in Ypsilanti.
Brighton obituary notes the death of Mrs. Shafnit after a long illness. She had diabetes for years but moved about until a fall during the previous week. The service is set for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the local church with a procession and bugle tribute at the Bray parish. Remaining survivors include two daughters and several grandchildren.
Cleveland police report a bank robbery at Pearl Street where bandits tried to enter. Richard Lohman, 24, a Cleveland payroll messenger, was shot in the abdomen and died after confronting the robbers. George Gerlach, a drug store employee, fired back as the second robber fled with $1,000.
A fragmented wartime tale aboard the Empress of Russia is recalled with radio chatter about China and Japan. An onboard Chinese worker is quizzed on the war, with the radio man joking about casualties as the exchange shifts between confusion and news.

Tipton Iowa December fifth Judge Ring ruled against town farmers leaders in a cattle war case. He overruled motions to dissolve a temporary injunction and granted the state against J W Leaker and 44 other cattle owners while refusing to dismiss contempt actions against Leaker William Hogan and W Batterbe. Weather outlook for December 7 to 12 calls for mixed snow chances, near normal temperatures, colder in the north.
