Old Gold an Aberdeen Angus steer costing 175 last year sold for a record 19.754 a pound at the International Live stock Exposition in Chicago. Weighing 1200 pounds, it brought about 12,900 for C E Yoder & Sons of Muscatine Iowa. The Pfaelzer Brothers, for Glenn H McCarthy, bought it to boost the Shamrock hotel opening in Houston next spring.

A second Iowa family lost four children in two days as a two room farm home near Cheroker suffered a deadly blaze. Victims were Michael four Sharon eight Karen two and Robert eight months. Fourth fatal Iowa house fire claims 11 year old
Knoxvi lle Iowa December 2 Henry Keith 11 died of burns in an early morning house fire, the fourth in three days. Parents James and Mrs Keith and four other children were admitted with severe burns, Mrs Keith in critical condition and sent to the University of Iowa hospital Tong City. Funeral Services for Berths Stephens Held at Shermans
Funeral services were conducted at Shermans funeral home Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock with Rev F W Eastwood officiating. Burial followed in Elm Grove cemetery. Cousins of the deceased acted as pallbearers. Eugene, 15, jumped from a window to safety. Two other children were away from home. A grandson Kenneth was treated for burns. The blast originated from an oil heating stove and firefighters could not control the flames.
