Tragic Ottawa Fire Leaves White Family Homeless
The Carl J. White family fled one flood loss and another fire tragedy. Four of their young children died in a house fire yesterday as their mother watched from across the street. Eight other children were at school at the time. stairway collapse trapped the youngsters on the second floor. The family had just moved from a flood upheaval in 1947 and were staying with neighbors after yesterday's blaze destroyed their home and belongings.
