Fifty Year Anniversary Honor for Meghelsen Parents at Ainsworth
A reception Saturday at the Gerard Meghelsen home in rural Ainsworth honored Rev and Mrs Karl Meghelsen on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. About 160 guests from Ainsworth Crawfordsville and Washington attended. The event featured a lace-covered table, cake baked by Don Cave nieces, fruit punch, and gifts though a no gifts request was noted. Out-of-town greetings arrived, including Florence Mechelsen of Keokuk who sang at the wedding fifty years ago. The Meghelsens’ careers and moves were recalled, ending with a family gathering and travels home Sunday.
