Mrs Adams 76 Dies After Month Long Illness
Mrs Della Ivy Adams 76 wife of John E Adams of the Ainsworth community died last night in Washington county hospital after a month of illness. Funeral at 10 30 Friday at L A Jones funeral home and burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Born May 1 1868 near Pilotburg she married John E Adams Feb 38 1887 and they this year marked 57 years of marriage. Survived by husband four daughters two sons a sister and four brothers are noted as well as several deceased.

Second Infantile Paralysis Case Reported
A second case of infantile paralysis in the community was reported today by the county health unit. Mrs Harold Gerdes 22 of Havre southeast of town was found to have the disease and was taken to the University hospital at Iowa City last night. Mary Barth 17 of Washington who became ill last week and was taken to the same hospital was reported to be showing some improvement.

A memorial service for the late Captain Harry Harker was held at St James Catholic Church with a solemn high mass. Lieutenant John Bonn delivered the memorial address at Ottumwa naval station.
