There will be no Mesquakie pow-wow on the reservation this summer but plans are under way for a gathering when most servicemen return. Gas Explosion Burns Osage Woman Near Death
Mrs. Merrill Kelley of Osage suffered severe burns Monday night when a gas hot water heater exploded in her home. Neighbors say the blast occurred as she prepared to light the heater, likely from leaking gas. Her clothes ignited, she reached the basement stairs before collapsing.
