Robert Worrell, 27, maintenance man for Allamakee Clayton REA, was electrocuted while working on a pole four miles south of Elkader. He crawled into his light truck and drove two miles before collapsing. He is in critical condition at Mercy hospital in Oelwein with severe burns to his left arm, hand, and foot after a passing motorist took him to Strawberry Point for aid.

Experienced rural school teachers will gather at the county courthouse Saturday morning from nine to twelve to receive supplies and discuss plans for the year. A prior meeting for new teachers drew 53 attendees.
