Handling Cellophane Bags For Freezing Foods
Cellophane bags used for frozen foods may be brittle when bought but should be soft and pliable when used. If brittle, place them in a damp room at least 48 hours before using. If no damp room exists, box them with an open top and cover with a damp cloth. Do not store near dry heat. Use an iron at wool warmth to seal with firm edge contact and just enough pressure to melt the cello phane. Excess heat can spoil the seal.
