Twenty five girls completed a YWCA camp at Lake Darling Youth Center last week with a cook-out across the lake and a full activity schedule. Nature study classes, crafts, archery, horseback riding, boating and swimming marked the program, with early morning swims and cabin stunts at Stunt Night.

Miss Ida Paisley Dies at United Presbyterian Home
Miss Ida Anna Paisley 85 longtime educator and missionary, died Sunday after a brief illness at the United Presbyterian home in Washington. She taught in Iowa Kentucky Tennessee and Egypt and served at Knoxville College. Survived by brother Wallace Paisley of Ocheyden and many nieces and nephews. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sherman’s with burial Morning Sun Iowa. Born March 18 1870 in Winfield Iowa.

Heat Wave Cracked By Cool Breezes

DES MOINES UP The Iowa Health Department reports 70 new polio cases in the week, raising 1955 total to 315. Last year 76 cases this week brought 520, while 1953 saw 49 and 259 totals. Officials compare 1955 to 1953 with a peak forecast for late month or early September. Lee County leads with 11 and Polk County with 13.
