Trial Ends in Rev Hughes Case at Nichols

Ten Alumni Photograph Readies for Reunion

This afternoon ten members of the High School class of S1 had their pictures taken together while 21 were at graduation. The group includes Mrs. Nellie Canfield Cunningham, Mrs. Kate Burroughs Letts of Chicago, Mrs. Hattie Moore Southwell of Burlington, Mrs. Magpie Wilson Dicken, Mrs. Stella Stinson Harris of Fairfield, Miss Sade Conner of Great Falls Montana, Mrs. John Matthews, Miss Eva Denny, Mrs. Stose Smouse Stephens and Leigh Watlice. They enjoy reviving school memories and note more members together now than in years past.

Train spooks horse injuring rider near Crawfordsville

Tuesday afternoon Miss Edith Chilcote daughter of A G Chilcote was driving home from Crawfordsville through Havre when a train approached frightening her horse. The animal jumped a barb wire fence tossing Miss Chilcote but she suffered only scratches while the horse bore barbs from the wire. The horse later ran again but remained manageable. Also noted Major J D Glasgow received a gold eagle pin from Theo Lerobrecht drum major of the Second Regiment Band. Flora Purvis returned from a visit with Winfield friends coming home with Miss Klora Roberts who will stay a few days. Dr Wells and Gib Burham returned from Kansas City bringing three carloads of cattle. Frost reported in low places with no crop damage, though heavy frost feared for crops.
