The obituary notes Louis Wolf born August 25 1815 in Hessen Germany died after a fall at his son Josephs home in West Washington. He came to the United States in 1836 and Iowa in 1856 living there since. seven children survive including Lucy Pattison Maggie Pattison Matt Wolf King Joseph John Wolf and Adam Wolf. Funeral at St James Catholic Church and Elm Grove Cemetery. Thursday Alva Crawford son of David Crawford of the steam laundry began a trip to Ottumwa with his brother from Ainsworth. He suffered a bad heart turn Saturday morning and was to be brought home. By Saturday night relatives learned of his illness and doctors report a weak heart with two congestive chills, leaving little hope for recovery.

Delegates have not yet chosen a permanent chairman, signaling a long battle. business may proceed tomorrow. A Old Settlers' Day committee seeks early times relics including an old rope bed for display at the Graham Opera House.
Older officers and others commend the Second Regiment encampment held last week. They note fine drills and schools of instruction and say the officers praise the soldiers, calling it the best encampment ever held in the state. The Third Regiment encampment is underway.
This evening a party from the Re formed Presbyterian church heads to Sharon near Roscoe for a presbyterial convention of young people. Expected travelers include Rev. and Mrs. W. S. Allen and son Paul, Miss Jennie McConnaughy, Misses Georgia and Amy Folger, Mrs. William Wiley, and Mr. and Mrs. M. Y. Wallace.
Brakeman J D Ross of Conductor Daniell’s crew fell from a rail car Saturday while switching in the Oskaloosa yards and suffered a compound fracture of his arm. He was brought home that evening and rests easy. The article also notes upcoming city events and a possible wheat price rise rumor.

The Old Settlers Association schedules its annual meeting this Thursday with a published program from last week. About fifty members have died since the previous gathering, and organizers urge attendance to reward their efforts and support the event.
Saturday evening the camping party that went out last Monday to the Iowa river near Cone returned in great spirits and with browned complexions. The party included Prof. and Mrs. Matthews and son Harvey, BE, FP, Brockway and son James, John Smettzer and daughter Cora, Misses Ollie Dixon, Jessie Adams, Merete Howe, Susie Johnson, and Clifford Thorn and Harley Gallagher.
About fifty turned out for the RL and N W railroad offered rate at the Senatorial convention in Winfield today. Names listed include WM Greene KS Sproull Port Lewis JA Cunniongham Hy Thenderson Dr Burroughs M Anderson KO Meek and many others. A called meeting of the PEO chapter will follow Thursday at two at Mrs. A. RR Dewey's home to discuss business of special importance.
Jake Hite sent two car loads of fine horses to eastern markets today over the Narrow Gange. It is described as one of the finest shipments Mr. Hite has ever sent out of the county.
The county band convention will be held at Wellman on Wednesday this week. Twelve bands from the county will attend, including the Palma Band of this city. A ball game balloon ascension and foot races are planned to entertain the crowd, with many residents expected to attend.
