North Vietnamese Tank Push Near Quang Tri Report
UPI datelined in Saigon reports North Vietnamese armor reappeared around Quang Tri city on Friday and Saturday as allied aircraft and South Vietnamese troops knocked out at least 29 tanks. The claim marks the largest tank kill since the fighting began June 28, with U.S. jet fighters destroying seven tanks south of the city, ground forces three, and VNAF planes accounting for the remainder.

Three year old Mark Woo-san, son of psychologist James Woo-san, was found in a lavatory aboard Trans World Airlines Flight 760 from Los Angeles to London. Cairo based political sources report Sadat’s month old order to end Soviet presence in Egypt has cut numbers far more than expected. About 300 Soviet military personnel remain with roughly 15,000 advisers gone, leaving a small cadre of instructors and trainers in military schools and units. The Soviet force had peaked at 15,000 to 20,000 before Sadat moved to expel them.

FBI shoots hijacker who seized Boeing 727 in Reno raid
FBI agents posing as relief crew boarded the United Airlines jet at Seattle Tacoma Airport after a hijacker rode a bicycle with a rifle to the Reno aircraft. The hijacker Marcus Sibley was shot in the back neck and leg as agents entered the cockpit and seized him. He demanded millions, gold bricks and weapons, and had flown to Vancouver and Seattle with 25 passengers and crew aboard. The raid ended the largest extortion attempt in U S airline history with less than one million recovered.

Fundamentalist Carl McIntire toured Flamingo Park in Miami Beach amid antiwar protesters during the Honor America event. He received red paint on a hand and his shoes were scrawled with slogans while crowds taunted him with taunts and pieces of Bibles. A protester wrote Smile Dope and Kill Commies on his shoes as others handed out Bibles and some were torn up.
