Park expansion funded by Interior Department grant
Congressman Fred Schwengel announced that the Washington County Conservation Board will receive 12 800 dollars from the Department of Interior to acquire about 128 acres adding to 80 acres of Sockum Park six miles southeast of Washington. The new land will support public outdoor recreation with hiking camping picnicking parking and access roads. A board spokesman said the funds will assure the purchase for park use.

Fairfield strike ends as workers return to North American Rockwell plant
