John Thomas Hill 49 a top ten fugitive was arrested in bed in Detroit by FBI agents without a struggle. Wanted for murder in Maryland and felonious assault in Virginia he had been working at a Detroit junk yard for three months. His search began in May 1950 and he was traced from New York last spring to Detroit.

Sixteen Hogs Die In Truck Crash Near Riverside
Sixteen head of hogs were killed when a truck hauling them went off the highway one fourth mile south of the river bridge on 21 S near Riverside at 8 30 p m Friday night. Carl William Gunnels of Crawfordsville was the driver of the truck owned by Eldon Christner. Damage was estimated at between four and five thousand dollars. Gunnels told Sheriff Charles Snyder that a car moving center highway forced him to swing to the shoulder and lose control.
