Child Hit By Car In Washington On South Iowa Avenue
Five year old Marvin Escher of rural Washington was struck by a car driven by John Patrick McKeone in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue at 3 10 p m. He received treatment at Washington County Hospital for lacerations and bruises. A separate report from Trenton notes 45 year old Robert Rice died at an Iowa City hospital after a two car crash near here involving Eldon Dietz, 17, of rural Mount Pleasant. Dietz was reported in good condition at Mount Pleasant hospital.

Man Bitten by Rattlesnake In Urbandale Garage
UPI report says 29 year old Thomas Widner in good condition after a rattlesnake bite in his garage where he keeps about 150 snakes as a hobby. Widner was bitten while cleaning cages. his wife declined to comment.
