Washington High School announces Fee Day on Friday August 22 for 1975-76 registration. Students will pay book rent, locker and athletic fees, purchase lunch tickets and insurance, have photos taken, and finalize class schedules and driver education paperwork ahead of the August 25 start. Kevin Horn presents Gun Safety at 9 a.m. Tuesday August 19 in Room 2, Cathy Huntsberger hosts A Cool Meal at 2 30 p.m. in Room 1, and Bob Stutzman covers Soil Conservation at 10 a.m. in Room 3. The event runs August 18 to noon August 23 in the Exhibits Building with daily orientation at 8 30 a.m. and 4 p.m. wrap ups. Cheri Wheeler will join in the Dress Revue on Monday and Tuesday.

Brush fire nears Hoover Dam power lines in Sunland CA

Iowa Southern Utilities Co will cut electrical service twice on Thursday for about 45 minutes each. Affected areas include Green Meadow, route 92 west of Washington, West Fifth Street, and nearby rural areas.
