Hessian Flies Roar Across Part of Iowa
A horde of hessian flies swept through a part of Iowa Friday near Camp Dodge reported by Herrold. The insects filled an area of at least 300 yards and passed in an hour and 20 minutes, flying southeastward not more than two feet above the ground.

Girl Born in Back Seat During Rainstorm
Shirley Ann Moore was born in the back seat of a car during a heavy rainstorm on a highway between Panora and Des Moines. Her parents Mr and Mrs Harry Moore of Rural Route 6 Des Moines traveled from Panora to Des Moines and stayed at a farm house that night. Both mother and daughter are in excellent condition after returning home Friday.
