James Rogers age 68 of Tiffin died after collapsing in a Tiffin store. He had earlier sustained chest injuries from a fall against an auto chassis at home and had a history of heart trouble. Survived by his wife and eight children. Coroner George D. Callahan released the findings.
Fred Russ, a grain elevator operator, found the elevator locked with machinery running. The seared body of a sparrow on a switch explains the incident. Ruhs believes the bird landed on the handle, shifted the switch, and was killed when he pressed against electric contacts.
A public wedding will be held at the tabernacle in University Park during the sixty sixth annual Free Methodist conference of the Iowa district. Hazel Clarey of Maquoketa and Raymond Meyers of Detroit will wed. Bishop C V Fairbairn of Kansas will perform the ceremony.

August 10 lows list Eugene F Task of Washington among two boys chosen by MTC Officers to go to Camp Perry for rifle guards. They will be at Camp Perry from date unknown for training and competition.
President Roosevelt signed the 155 million deficit bill of the 76th Congress. It allocates 199 million to enable the Gaie ties Credit Corporation to continue aiding farm commodity prices. The signing leaves 107 bills awaiting approval from the 400 sent by Congress who adjourned last Saturday night.
