Sheryl Swenson Crowned Miss Washington County in 1972 Pageant

Ainsworth girl Sheryl Marie Swenson won the 1972 Miss Washington County title at the fairgrounds defeating six rivals. She sang I Don t Know How to Love Him amid audio issues and earned a $600 scholarship plus the chance to compete at Miss Iowa Pageant. runners up included Julie Bakehouse Patsy Mullikin and Julie Nicholls with runner up awards and congeniality honors also noted.

Altoona Moves to End Rural Type Mailboxes

Altoona city officials push to remove curbside rural mailboxes for esthetic reasons and study switching to door to door service. Postal Service district manager John L.
