In Hanau Germany a brawl outside the Golden Keg left Pfe William E Mann of Little Rock Arkansas dead after a stabbing by Pfc Edward E Bonney of Golden Colorado. Another white GI Rob ert L Martin was injured while five Negro soldiers reportedly jumped the pair. Army says race relations remain good and the incident rate is declining. The German press called it a race riot, but the Hanau mayor and U.S. Army European officials dispute that framing.
