Judge Allows Schneider Bros Retail Closeout At 75 Percent

Attorney Butterfield secured a court order from Judge Dewey permitting the Schneider Bros stock to be closed out at retail for 75 percent of cost. The doors will open tomorrow. Brighton Aug and Wood Bros. of Lownetreus face hard luck after a Missouri storm destroyed their tent, another ripped, eight stormy days with no income. They camp a week to settle with their people and plan to reorganize and play St. Louis this season. The Rock Island Branch passenger train hauled a string of Mat cars this morning and dropped them along the line.

Ex President Clarrison to Publish Revised Book This Autumn

The Indianapolis Journal reports ex President Clarrison has completed revisions to articles first appearing in The Ladies Home Journal. Bok, editor of the magazine, arranged royalties sharing but released him from royalties for the season. Scribners offered the best deal, Bok transferring the book rights for Harrison, whose revision is now finished and due in autumn.

Washington Iowa Licenses for Passenger Carriers Required

City ordinance requires residents and nonresidents operating passenger transport in Washington Iowa to obtain a license from the mayor. License fees set a range for transient and resident operators with penalties for noncompliance. Enforcement includes fines up to twenty dollars and potential jail time up to thirty days. The ordinance takes effect after passage and publication.
