The Hopewell Sewing Club held its annual picnic in Keota park shelter house with a plentiful supper and social hour. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Mark Weber and families, Leon Vogel and family, Raymond Sieren, Harold Pepper, Metsy Detweiler and family, Cloyce Dill and Cheryl, and Gene Sanders of Iowa City as supper guests. Funeral services were held for Mr Sherman Smothers of North English at Best funeral chapel. He was grandfather to Richard Smothers of Keota.
