Search Underway For Missing Boat Darlwin
A large air and sea search is underway for the 45 foot pleasure launch Darlwin missing after it vanished Sunday off the Cornish coast during a 40 mile trip from Falmouth. It carried two crew and 29 passengers including seven children. A 50 mph gale blew up sending small craft to shelter as storms raged all night. The dinghy was found empty near the Eddystone lighthouse ten miles off England’s southern coast. A vast search, involving RAF planes and helicopters and boats, was launched with little hope anyone aboard would be found alive.
