Charity horse show at Washington County Fairgrounds planned
Proceeds from a June 23 charity horse show at the Washington County fairgrounds will benefit the Washington Developmental Center. Tailgating Tops Iowa Rear-End Crash Causes
Des Moines reports tailgating was the third most frequent cause of traffic accidents in Iowa last year. Officials say more than one-third of the 4 438 rear end crashes involved injuries from sudden stops and that the 55 mile per hour limit has increased tailgating as vehicles traveling at the same speed tend to bunch together.

West Chester Man James Lenz Killed in Highway 92 Crash
James Raymond Lenz, 29, of West Chester, died after a two car collision on highway 92 two and a half miles west of West Chester. Barbara Ann Harvey, 18, from West Chester, and Susan Bennett, 23, of Lyndon Ill., were occupants. Lenz died Sunday after being taken to University Hospitals. The crash is the county's second highway fatality this year.
