Japanese purchase old Creston rail line for Japan use
Jeto Masuzawa representing the Japanese government with J D Fiddler and John Mangini of St Louis bought the old rails of the abandoned Creston Winterset Des Moines railway. SIBLEY Iowa April 23 Carl Jess fifteen years old was found mentally incompetent and not responsible for the murder of his father Claude Jess. The jury recommended commitment to a state institution for treatment after deliberating overnight. The crime occurred March 7 when Claude Jess, a wealthy landowner near Sibley, was shot in bed. the boy claimed it followed whipping and denial of privileges.
